Investment Opportunity – GREENHOUSES

Columbia Lake Technology Centre (CLTC) data centre operations generate significant excess heat at build out of 30 MW. Two of 12 data centre pods are currently installed and operating.

This excess heat is proposed to be a primary production input for  up to 300,000 square feet of greenhousing shown on site master planning. Canal Flats has ample water supply, ample power available on site, a “goldilocks” climate (energy use), and 3 hour truck access to a Calgary region market of $1.5 million for greens.

The Columbia Lake Technology Center (CLTC) launched in June, 2018 following the purchase of the former Canfor mill site and adjacent lands by entrepreneur Brian Fehr.

The CLTC features current operation of:

  • BID Group – North America’s largest fabricator of forestry mill sites
  • Podtech – a 30MW provider of cryptocurrency mining and digital process solutions, and a manufacturer of scalable “MegaPod” modular container data centre solutions. Waste heat generated by the Podtech data center is envisioned to be used by 300,000 sq. ft. of greenhouses to be constructed.

Further enterprise activity is envisioned as the Center develops synergies between enterprises in key sectors including: metal fabrication, agriculture production, agricultural processing, technology, and agricultural technology.

Eighty jobs are anticipated to be created on site by the end of 2019.
