Effective 1pm Friday, July 24, both Category 2 and Category 3 fires will be prohibited in the Village of Canal Flats and throughout the Southeast Fire Centre’s jurisdiction.
The BC Wildfire Service is implementing this prohibition to help prevent human caused wildfires and to protect public safety.

Campfires less than 0.5 meters high and 0.5 meters in diameter are permitted.

PLEASE NOTE: The use of fireworks and/or firecrackers has been banned within the boundary of the Village of Canal Flats and extending into the Southeast Fire Centre.

The ban is in effect on private and public lands.

A person in contravention of this ban may be ordered to pay all firefighting and associated costs, as well as the value of the resources damaged or destroyed by the fire.
