2026 Local General Election
Public Notice is hereby given to the electors of the Village of Canal Flats that an election by voting is to be held to elect a Mayor, four (4) Councillors and a school trustee, and that the following persons are candidates for each office:

GENERAL VOTING DAY will be open to qualified electors of the Village of Canal Flats on
Saturday, October 17, 2026
between the hours of 8:00 am and 8:00 pm
at the Columbia Discovery Centre (Village office)
8866 Grainger Road.
ADVANCE VOTING will be available to qualified electors as follows:
Wednesday, October 7, 2026
8:00 am and 8:00 pm, and
Thursday, October 15, 2026
8:00 am and 5:00 pm
at the Columbia Discovery Centre (Village office)

If you are not on the list of electors, you may register at the time of voting by completing the required application form available at the voting place. To register, you must meet the following qualifications:
• 18 years of age or older;
• Canadian citizen;
• resident of BC for at least 6 months immediately preceding voting day;
• resident of OR registered owner of real property in the Village of Canal Flats on the day of registration;
• not otherwise disqualified by law from voting.
Resident electors will be required to produce 2 pieces of identification (at least one with a signature). Picture identification is not necessary. The identification must prove both residency and identity.
Non-resident property electors will be required to produce 2 pieces of identification (at least one with a signature) to prove identity, proof that they are entitled to register in relation to the property, and, if there is more than one owner of the property, written consent from the majority of the property owners.
School Trustee Elector – A person may only register as an elector in one trustee electoral area in one school district. Only Canal Flats electors are eligible to vote in Canal Flats. Area F electors may vote at the RDEK Electoral Area F general voting dates and locations.
